Mission to Poland

Please join friends and family of the Auschwitz Jewish Center and the Museum as we travel to Poland on Sunday, April 3 through Sunday, April 10, 2011 to celebrate the miracle of the  Auschwitz Jewish Center, now entering its second decade of operations.

Journey together with us to Warsaw, Krakow, and Oswiecim, Poland for– 7 days and 6 nights – during which time we will:

*   Visit the ruins of the Warsaw Ghetto and witness the resistance of the Jewish fighters at Mila 18

*   Tour majestic Krakow, and its Jewish sites. Krakow dates back to the 7th century and is a major academic, cultural, and economic center

*   Visit Auschwitz-Birkenau with historians, experts, and survivors

*   Say Kaddish in the AJC’s Chevra Lomdei Mishnayot

*   Honor those who survived, bear witness for those who did not, and be part of the centuries-old history of the Jews in Poland.

Participants need to make a minimum $1,000 gift to the AJC, which will also entitle them to Museum membership. The trip includes five star accommodations, all meals, and guided excursions. The Land Only rate is $5,000. The staff is happy to assist you with travel accommodations or other special arrangements. A portion of the trip fee will be donated to the Auschwitz Jewish Center. Staff can work with you to plan extensions to your trip, including arranging family heritage excursions to find roots in shtetls and towns.

Please contact Felica Kobylanski, Director of Development for Major Gifts and Special Projects, at 646.437.4302 or Fkobylanski@mjhnyc.org to discuss your participation.
