Programs for the public

My Former Neighbors – program for adults

The Auschwitz Jewish center holds a series of educational and informative seminars on a monthly basis.  Guests include lecturers, professors, writers, historians, and performers.  These seminars are open to the public and deal with specific aspects of Holocaust history and Jewish culture.

In addition, at the Center holds at least two annual panel discussions and dialogues, which focus on Polish-Jewish and Jewish-Christian relations, which provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions, voice their opinions, and interact with visitors from different backgrounds.  Film screenings followed by discussions are also offered.

The Center also offers adult workshops called Conversations on Tolerance, which promote understanding of contemporary issues related to tolerance.  These are bimonthly discussions and workshops that focus on racism, anti-Semitism, and other forms of xenophobia.

All of the above activities are intended to raise awareness about the Holocaust and familiarize the local and regional Polish population with Jewish culture and tradition, teach them about the country’s Jewish history and heritage, and promote tolerance and understanding between communities.
