Remember for the Future - 70th Anniversary of Destruction of the Great Synagogue in Oświęcim
Nov 29th (Sun) at 7 p.m.
Berka Joselewicza Str, the site of the Great Synagogue
Seventy years ago, the Nazis destroyed the Great Synagogue of Oświęcim. In the location where the town’s first synagogue stood since the 16th century, the pride of the local Jewish community was razed to the ground and its remains were later demolished.
We would like to invite residents of Oświęcim and all those interested to take part in a commemorative art project by Dariusz Paczkowski.

November also marks the 71st anniversary of the wave of pogroms in Nazi Germany known as Kristallnacht (the Night of Broken Glass) which took place on the night of Nov. 9, 1938.
Since 1988 the anniversary has been remembered as the International Day Against Fascism and Antisemitism.
