This exhibit displayed the winning entries from a contest that invited secondary and high school students from Oswiecim and the region to submit written and fine art works under the theme of Jews – My Associations. The contest encouraged students to learn more about Jewish culture and history in order to promote attitudes of tolerance and openness to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity and to counteract their own stereotypes by using skills of self-reliance and creative thinking. Thirteen jurors selected 35 of the most outstanding works for display from 32 written works and 110 drawings, paintings, sculptures, and carvings submitted by students from 28 schools in 14 towns.
